Our commitment to revolutionizing the retail landscape with our checkout–free technology platform has earned us recognition in the following categories:
Bricks and Mortar Innovation:
Transforming tradition, Zippin Walk-Up turned the hot foods concession stand at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium into a checkout-free shopping experience. This was the very first Zippin Walk-Up installation, an innovative approach to checkout-free that requires no construction and seamlessly integrates with existing concession stand spaces. Guests can now breeze through their shopping without waiting in lines, enhancing the overall customer journey.
This innovation was showcased on a local TV channel at the beginning of this season, where Aramark pointed out it cut transaction times to under a minute. Since the launch of the first Zippin Walk-Up, many others have opened at various sports and entertainment venues.
Customer Experience Excellence:
Zippin has redefined the shopping experience and delighted customers with its checkout-free platform. While our technology eliminates friction for most items, age-restricted purchases present the challenge of manual ID checks. This process is often a significant bottleneck, and prone to human error. Zippin integrated with digital identity verification services to provide a first-of-its-kind customer experience at Empower Field at Mile High. Customers registered with IDmission look at a facial recognition screen to verify their identity. Once verified, the store’s entry gate opens, and a virtual shopping basket is created.
Technology Implementation of the Year (Rest of World):
Zippin's integration with digital identification technology for age verification and payments was also nominated for technology implementation of the year. With this integration, there’s no checkout and no manual stop to verify age-restricted purchases. Instead of the frustration of waiting in long lines at traditional concessions, customers can shop in just 30 seconds without stopping, so they don’t miss any of the action. While it’s currently deployed at 9 Zippin-powered locations at Empower Field at Mile High, we see this innovation expanding due to our partnership and success to date.
This project was enabled by the Zippin Gateway, an API framework that lets retailers add new customer experiences to the Zippin platform. The integration with digital identity verification not only delivers excellent customer experiences, it solves a problem for stores – accurately confirming shopper ages. It’s challenging for staff to keep up with and comply with strict venue alcohol regulations. Having to check licenses from around the country makes this even more complicated.
