Columbus Blue Jackets, Nationwide Arena and Zippin to Launch Checkout-free Shopping
Nationwide Arena becomes newest venue to deploy checkout-free shopping, elevating the fan experience by eliminating the checkout line
COLUMBUS, Ohio, & SAN MATEO Calif., – The Columbus Blue Jackets, Nationwide Arena and leading checkout-free technology platform, Zippin, today announced the launch of checkout-free shopping for fans this season. Located in the “Bread Financial Boulevard” on the main concourse at section 105-106, the Bread Financial Score & Go is operated by Delaware North selling soft drinks, water, and domestic and craft beer to fans who want to be back in their seats - and back to the action - fast.
“The Blue Jackets are thrilled to offer our fans and guests of Nationwide Arena a new, fast-paced concession experience for a fast-paced game. Fans will not miss a second of the action thanks to the Bread Financial Score & Go,” said Blue Jackets Chief Operating Officer Cameron Scholvin.
Zippin leads the way in frictionless shopping, especially in quick-serve locations like arenas and sports venues where fan experience and time is of the essence. By removing the checkout line, concessionaires are able to serve their customers better, faster, and more often, during an event, than traditional stands or self-checkout. The proven ROI cements the value for retailers looking to maximize staff and optimize real estate within a venue.
“Concessionaires face rising expectations for efficiency from event goers and that is being exacerbated by staffing shortages,” said Alice Chan, SVP of Marketing at Zippin. “Checkout-free changes the economics for this group so they can offer frictionless experiences for their shoppers while increasing efficiencies for the venue operators. A win-win that results in happy fans and increased revenues.”
Nationwide Arena works to make every experience from NHL games to concerts as valuable for their event attendees as possible. Adding retail technology like checkout-free supports the focus on the fans and the value that a ticket has when you’re able to spend more time in your seat, and less time waiting in line.
The “Bread Financial Boulevard” is the primary concession area of Nationwide Arena located between sections 101 and 106. The boulevard was renamed as part of the Blue Jackets multi-year partnership with Bread Financial™ announced last October. Bread Financial serves as the team’s first Official Financial Services Partner and the Blue Jackets’ home helmet partner for the 2022-23 NHL season.
The Blue Jackets return to action tonight when they host the Carolina Hurricanes. The game will be presented by Bread Financial with puck drop at 7 p.m. ET. Live coverage on Bally Sports Ohio begins with the Blue Jackets Live pre-game show starting at 6:30 p.m. The game can also be heard on the Blue Jackets Radio Network, including Sports Radio 97.1 The Fan in Columbus, and online at BlueJackets.com.
Single game tickets for all home games played at Nationwide Arena during the 2022-23 season are on sale now. Full and partial season tickets for the Blue Jackets’ 2022-23 campaign are currently available for purchase. Information on all ticketing options can be obtained by calling (614) 246-3350 or visiting BlueJackets.com/ticketplans.
