Zippin recently co-hosted a webinar with the Association of Luxury Suite Directors (ALSD) where we revealed the impressive results that checkout-free has delivered in NFL stadiums.
Joining us was Adam Feldman, Vice President of Stadium Management, Programming, and Guest Experience for the Las Vegas Raiders, Sandeep Satish, Managing Director of DBK Studio and Vice President of Strategy and Analytics at E15 group (overseeing strategy across Levy’s venues), and Jonathan Katz, Account Manager here at Zippin.
This group of experts discussed why sports and entertainment venues are investing in frictionless shopping and the outcomes they’re seeing from these investments. The big finding: Allegiant Stadium saw a 78% increase in revenues at Zippin-powered stores versus the same locations last year.
How Checkout-Free Boosts Profits & Fan Experiences
Feldman revealed a few more stats about how Allegiant Stadium’s Zippin-powered stores are performing:
- 78% increase in revenues
- 61% increase in per-caps
- 15% increase in average check size
- Average shopping trip just 35-45 seconds
If you’ve been keeping up with Zippin news, you might remember reading our blog from September where we announced a 45% increase in revenues at this same stadium. Why the difference? These stores are achieving ongoing, incremental performance improvements thanks to frictionless technology, especially now that the football season is in full swing.
The Human Effect
Levy’s Satish talked about how checkout-free stores positively impact team members at the venue as well. The role of team members in these locations has evolved from being transactional to being ambassadors, with more time to connect with shoppers. The staff enjoy their jobs more and are able to provide a higher level of customer service. He said Levy is seeing growing demand for checkout-free solutions across a variety of retail markets, including race tracks, zoos, museums, and more.
Getting the Most from Checkout-free
Zippin’s own Jonathan Katz shared tips on how to make the most of checkout-free investments. His experience as a stadium operator at one of the busiest arenas around, the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY, supported the old adage: It all starts with location, location, location. By simply identifying the bottlenecks in your stadium you can build out a checkout-free plan to solve these issues.
